Win at Holdens last ever round 🥇 🏆
Hey Guys,
What a weekend hey! It was hot as hell but I’m stoked the Adelaide 500 is back, it’s such a good event.
Got on provisional pole on Friday but come the shootout on Saturday I had an average lap and dropped down to the 4th row.
I thought the race was looking pretty uneventful, but with 40 to go, it all turned to madness - we had a double stack but Adam’s unreal strategy came through again and made sure we had all the fuel we needed to get to the end.
Took over the lead with 28 to go and eventually I was 3 seconds up the road watching Nick’s battle unfold in the mirror and we secured a 1-2 finish! An unreal result with all that this weekend means for the Holden fans.
Saturday was just unbelievable, for everything the weekend means to the team, to the fans that have backed us and everyone for three decades, it’s really special.
It was so good to be up there with Nick too, he’s had a tough year but he deserved that.
Sunday we capped off an incredible weekend at the Adelaide 500 with second in the final race of the year.
Threw everything at the win in the last 20 laps but just couldn’t get to Broc (Feeney) in front, and had to settle for the second step on the podium, I wish we did better but it’s great to see a rookie get the win in a Holden for the last time.
I finished third in the Drivers Championship, it is my most successful year in terms of wins and podiums so I’m excited to keep building with the team in Gen3 and see what we can do.
Thanks everyone for the love this season, really appreciate all the support throughout the highs and lows this year!
Bring on Gen3.
