Two Top Fives in Perth 🏁

It’s good to be back in Perth! It’s a long way to go to get to the other side of Aus but the fans and the event makes up for the extra hours in the air/on the road 😜

Big 90 minute practice session on Friday was unreal, gave us heaps of time to work on some things with the car but we struggled in Quali and started Saturday’s race in P15.

Race 7 was a tough one, we ran a longer first stint, changed two-tyres and rejoined in P14. With the fresher tyres, we could make some late race passes to finish up just outside the ten in P11.

Sunday was a much better day for us, we had a couple of top five results with P4 in the first race and P5 in the second.

Qualified P5 for Race 8 and started strong off the line and with a bit going on up ahead we moved our way into P4 after the first few laps. Pushed super hard at the end of the race to try and hunt down a podium position but just came up short.

Started a bit further back for our final race in Perth from P7, ran long again to get some clean air at the start and had some strong pace towards the end of the race. I thought we were catching the leading pack but just ran out of time and finished P5.

Overall 2 top 5 finishes to round out the weekend was pretty good considering where we were on Saturday, we’ve still got some homework to do before Tassie, that’s where I got my first win with WAU so got some good memories there for sure.
