Two Podiums in Towny! 🌴

Two Podiums in Towny! 🌴

Hey Guys,

I'm pretty happy after the weekend, a massive turnaround after our first hit-out in Townsville! We definitely found a spark that was missing, and it felt good to be up the pointy end again!

It wasn’t a pleasant start to Saturday, probably had our worst session of the year in Practice. The WAU Team dialed up the rocket before Quali and we slotted onto the third row of the grid!

There was a bit of hustle and bustle through the start of Race 16, but I managed to escape unscathed. Shortly after, I got hold of Davison and moved pasted him into P4.

When I was told Whincup had a 15-second penalty through the mid-part of the race, my ears lit up, I was on my way to the podium if I could stay in reach. I managed to do it, and snagged P3!

Sunday started with back-to-back Quali’s. We started well with P3 in the first session, but I the kissed the wall in the second session and that killed the momentum, and I qualified in P12.

Fired out of the gates pretty well for the first race of the arvy! Held my starting position off the line but Davison was hot on my heels behind 🔥 The car had fairly good pace through the race, but Davison kept popping up in my rear vision mirror. It ended up pretty tight through the last few laps, luckily I was able to hold the big fella off, maybe one more lap and I would of been toast! Anyway, I was happy to earn another cup for the pantry, P3!

The last race on Sunday was a bit of a downer 😫 Starting from P12, I lost out on a few spots through the opening laps. We had a bit of a mishap on the pit-stop, which put us fair way back in the pack. At one stage I was P22, but I was able fight back and land just inside the Top 10 with P9.

Well two weekends in North Queensland was a bit of a rollercoaster, but we've made it out on a pretty good note I reckon! As always, thanks to the WAU Team for your all hard work, I hope you enjoyed those podiums as much I did. Alrighty that'll do, I'll see ya's at QR next month 👋🏽

Cheers,

Chaz
