TWO PODIUM FINISHES AT THE BEND 🏆

Hi Everyone,

A pretty good weekend for us at The Bend this year! Two podiums and a Top Ten after starting way back in the field was pretty promising.

Two quickfire practice sessions started the weekend off before we had a three-part qualifying session and we were able to put the Mobil 1 Optus Racing Mustang in P5.

Had probably one of my greatest ever race starts once the lights went out on Saturday and shot up 4 spots to P2 by the first corner - we pushed hard and a great 3 second stop from the crew put us in a podium position and grabbed the second step on the podium.

On Sunday, we qualified P6 for the first race and opted to run the longer first stint strategy and came out of the pit with the freshest tyres with 8 laps to go. I had a good battle with Davey Reynolds for the final spot on the podium and got the job done on the first corner of the last lap for our second trophy of the weekend.

I had a moment in the second Qualifying on Sunday so we started P17 which wasn’t ideal. Pushed really hard in the race, took an early stop strategy and made our way up to P9 which was a massive gain from where we started the race across 20 laps.

It’s awesome to come away with two trophies this weekend, the team have been working hard all year so it’s great to reward them!

We are now off to the enduros, my favourite time of the year and I’m looking forward to having my mate Leethal back with me.
