99th & 100th Podium in Sydney! 🏆🏆

Hey Guys,

What a way to kick off the 2024 Supercars season! Sydney Motorsport Park delivered an action-packed weekend that’s for sure.

With 100km on the clock for Race 1 I started from P8 and moved my way through the field and the team played the perfect strategy with four fresh tyres, allowing me to charge up to P3 with ten laps to go. Not one to settle, I made a bold move with two laps to go, diving down the inside to secure a P2 finish. I didn’t expect a podium from P8, that’s for sure. I was stoked to reward the crew with a podium, they’ve had a really busy off-season. 

Saturday’s shootout saw me qualify in P3, and in the race, we took an aggressive undercut strategy, pitting early alongside the leader. The decision paid off, and after the final stop, I emerged in P3, ultimately crossing the line in P4. We didn’t quite get it right with qualifying today, so we started further back than we wanted to, but we’re always learning and pushing forward.

On Sunday, I pushed the limits in the shootout, holding a tenth up on the field before a spin cost me my lap 🫠 I didn’t let that hold me back, I made up two positions in the opening stint and once again went for an early stop to gain track position. Some quick thinking allowed me to capitalize on a collision ahead, stealing P3 and holding off fierce pressure in the final laps to grab a second trophy for the weekend. 

This podium marked a milestone for my 100th career podium which puts me 6th equal in the all-time Supercars record books for most podiums which is crazy to think of. Young Chaz would never have thought this was possible that’s for sure!

Everyone was definitely in the hard racing mindset this weekend, so it was pretty tough out there. I had some fun battles, and it’s good to be back!

Our team has been working tirelessly in the off-season, and this strong start is just the beginning.
