Rollercoaster of a weekend in Townsville 🎢

Hi Everyone,

After two practice sessions on Friday we went into Saturday with Qualifying first up, we were able to pull together a strong lap to grab a spot in the shootout.

We were fighting against the car pretty early and knew it would be hard for us to get close to pole position because we had to reuse tyres for the shootout and finished P10 after our solo lap

We knew Race 16 wasn’t going to be easy; 88 laps, 250km and 27 degrees out of the car.

Got a pretty ripper start, it seemed like the seas parted for me on the first lap and avoiding the carnage, was able to make my way up 6 spots into P4.

We elected to run a three-stop strategy and had a cracker final stint, did my best to light up the timing screens and make my way forward passing Cam, for the 26th and final overtake #26 of the race, to take the final step of the podium was a nice reward for the team!

It was a hard-fought slog to get the Number 25 on the podium, I did push as much as I could in the last stint with some awesome battles along the way.

On Sunday we shot the Optus Mobil 1 Rocket into the shootout from P3 but I was pushing hard in the shootout and touched the wall so I had to pull out and started the final race in P10 again.

Unfortunately our race only lasted about 2 laps, we had a control part fail, this time it was a steering rack.

We’ve suffered in the Championship as a result but that is out of our hands unfortunately, we’ll work hard to come back stronger in Sydney.
