Race Win in Taupō! 🏆

Hey Guys,

Had a cracking weekend in Taupō, New Zealand!

Managed to get a Race Win on Saturday and a Podium on Sunday, felt like I was at a second home round with Ri’s family being Kiwi so it was awesome to have success infront of the extended family. 

First up on Saturday we had a hectic back to back Quali, I was 6th & 2nd which was pretty good considering our weaknesses in qualifying at the AusGP.

In Race 8 I got collected from behind and dropped down to 21st, was a bit a of a passenger there.

It was a short SuperSprint so we did one stop and I got back up to 15th, which was a good recovery for the #25 and moved up to 13th when some other drivers got some penalties. 

There was a quite a quick turnaround for the second Sprint race on Saturday, got out on track and I was definitely hungry for a win - had a great start and flew off the line into the lead.

At the halfway mark, Brodie came through and had stronger tyre life and took the lead from me, so we dove into the pits in convoy with him. 

Glad to say we kept the fans entertained, making changes for the lead doing some rally cross along the way and I was happy to come out infront and push on from there - got a 7 second lead and grabbed my first race for ’25!

On Sunday, I made the shootout but had to run the used tyre so was down the back end after it. 

In the race, we ran a longer first stint and benefited from the clean air, I made my way into the top 5 at the halfway mark and with 10 laps to go I snagged the last spot on the podium from Brodie.

Definitely didn’t think I’d be standing on the podium after starting 9th, the crew executed perfectly alongside the right strategy was the right potion. 

The car felt the best it’s felt this year in the race on Sunday, it was super fun to drive and makes me really excited to get back behind the wheel for the next round in Tassie.
