Mozzie Wins Major Accolades In Adelaide 🩵
Supercars star Chaz Mostert has cleaned house at the 2024 Supercars Gala Awards, collecting all three major individual awards in Adelaide.
Held at the Adelaide Convention Centre, Walkinshaw Andretti United star Mostert was awarded the Barry Sheene Medal, the Drivers’ Driver Award, and the inaugural Jim Richards Award.
It is the second consecutive year Mostert has won the Barry Sheene Medal, awarded to the driver who best exemplifies character, personality, and sportsmanship, as voted on by Supercars accredited media.
Voted on by Supercars drivers in recognition of the performance and sportsmanship of their peers, Mostert was voted Drivers’ Driver for the first time in his career.
In a clean sweep of the night’s major accolades, the Gold Coaster also claimed the inaugural Jim Richards Award, named for the seven-time Bathurst 1000 winner, which recognises drivers’ on-track performance and professionalism.
The Jim Richards Award is the newest addition to the Supercars Gala Awards, and was voted on race-by-race by select competition officials.
Mostert finished third in this year’s Supercars Drivers’ Championship, equalling a career-best. He added three wins to his tally in 2024, one at CARCO.com.au Raceway in Perth before a clean sweep under the lights at the Sydney SuperNight.
