Highs & lows in Adelaide ðŸ«
Hi Everyone,
Crazy to think we’re done with Supercars for another year, I feel like I was only here a few weeks ago but it’s been a whole 12 months.
On Saturday, our best effort in quali was P8, enough to get in the Shootout but I was disappointed I didn’t get the best out of the car during my lap, but we were still able to move one spot up and start in P7.
It was a circus of an opening lap, we ran a long middle stint and came out in a battle pack with strong race pace and fresher tyres in the final stint.
P4 was all we had though, we would have loved to have been on the podium but just struggled to get any rear grip.
On Sunday, had a great start off the line from P4 but unfortunately quickly got handed a 5 second penalty to serve at our first stop.
We were on the back foot and we fought hard all the way to the end, crossing the finish line in P5.
We had a jump from 5th in the drivers Championship to 4th which rewards the team for their hard work this year which I’m stoked about!
We didn’t get a win this year which I am pretty disappointed about but we have plenty of trophies and podiums and we fought hard to the death.
It’s been a massive year for our crew, plenty of success on and off track but we’re still not where we want to be, we’ll have a break for Christmas and reset for 2024.
It’s been a great two years with Nick as a teammate, if you told us 10 years ago we would be great mates we would have laughed but I now have a lifelong friend and wish him all the best next year!
Also to farewell Adam was bittersweet, can’t thank him enough for putting up with me for so long and it’s pretty crazy to look back at all the amazing things we’ve been able to achieve together in Supercars.
Thanks everyone for the support!
Cheers,
Chaz
