Darwin Delight ☀️

I feel like it's been a long time since I've talked to you all! After missing the Winton round, I was pretty pumped to be back racing, and of course seeing all the fans out there 👋
I started P8 for the first race of the weekend. The plan going into the race was just to stay out of trouble. Lucky enough, I stayed out of the carnage and the rocket sat in P3 by the end of Turn 1 on the opening lap!
I notched up into P2 on Lap 10 and SVG was leading pretty comfortably out in front. I pitted around the halfway mark and SVG shortly followed after that. He had some dramas in pit-lane and I was able to snag the number one position on track!
Anyway, you gotta take em when you get em, I crossed the line for win number two for the year, how about that from P8!
There was definitely some happy faces in the garage when I got back with the trophy. Full credit to the Walkinshaw Andretti United crew, that win was for them.
Qualified in P8 & P10 for the races on Sunday, that was the best we could manage out of the car.
I jumped two places off the start to move into P6, and then pitted early to create the undercut. It looked like the master move as I went into P3! Eventually the tyres started to wear down and Jamie passed me with 5 laps to go, with much fresher tyres on his car. I defended as hard I could, but P4 was all I can do for Race 13.
We turned around again for another crack in the afternoon. Starting from P10, I was a fair way back, but I knew I had a very quick race car under me.
I moved a couple of spots off the line and stayed on track until the mid part of the race. Just the way it worked, when I came back from the pitstop, I was in P4 🤷♂️
There was no movement from there, I came home to pick up my second P4 result for the day. We did everything right in the two races on Sunday, the car only needed to perform better in Quali and we would of picked up another few trophies.
Pretty awesome weekend in the end, second win of the year, got my tan on, and bagged the most points by any driver for the round.
