Consistent Points Haul at the Perth Super 440 🏁

G'day guys,

What a weekend in Perth! We hit Wanneroo Raceway for the Perth Super 440 with three races packed into three days, and the Mobil 1 Optus Toyota Supra was showing some real pace all weekend long.

Qualifying for Race 23 was a bit of a mess from my end, honestly. I got baulked on a flying lap and struggled to get the communication I needed from the pit wall during the session, so we ended up 11th on the grid. Not ideal, but I knew the Supra had more in it than that. Once the race got underway, we made good ground on strategy, the team called a great stop and I managed to move through the field to take fifth at the flag. Solid points, and a great building block for the rest of the weekend.

We turned things around nicely for Race 24, qualifying fifth felt much more like it. I was the first of the leading group to pit on lap 16, which gave me a massive 34-lap run on clean air to push hard. The Supra was working beautifully through the middle stint and I was able to pick my way through. I crossed the line in fourth and honestly the car felt strong enough for more, we just couldn't quite get the track position we needed. Still, really pleased with how we fought back after that tough Race 23 qualifying.

Sunday's qualifying wasn't quite what we were hoping for - we ended up 12th but the race was a different story. The Supra had great pace and I was one of the biggest movers through the opening phase, working my way from 12th up to sixth by Lap 16. It was a hectic afternoon, there was a big moment on pit exit where I had to react quickly to keep the car pointed in the right direction but the team did a great job and we held on to bring it home in sixth. That's a good, consistent result and we take solid points from the round.

Overall it was a positive weekend for us - three finishes in the top six, good pace throughout, and the Supra is in a great place heading into Ipswich. I've got heaps of confidence in this team and the car right now, and I reckon we can keep pushing forward from here.
